Hey there!
I am Brandon Liu, a high school student in Irvine, California.
Service to community has always been the driving force of my life. Ever since elementary school, I have been an active Boy Scout and have now attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
2020 was a challenging year in every perspective, but it also highlighted who are society depends on and where our appreciation should be directed.
I have always been interested in paper cranes. They are quite simple to make, yet so powerful in their meaning.
One of my family members once made 1000 paper cranes as a wish to marry the love of his life! It worked!
That's why I decided to embark on this project, which I call Operation Paper Crane.
My uncle worked on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic and after seeing how tired he was after each day of work, I knew I needed to do my part.
This inspired our first theme: Health Care Workers. And since, we have moved from teachers to grocery store workers to police officers and beyond.
I'm so excited for our journey ahead!
